Watch: KNUST SHS Assistant headmaster caught fondling breast


The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School (SHS), from his position.

Charles Aidoo was removed after being found "in a compromising position with a female student."

In a statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, it was emphasised, "We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity and well-being of students."

The statement noted that the attention of GES Management had been drawn to a viral video circulating on social media, allegedly showing Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST SHS, in a compromising position with a female student.

"Management views this matter with utmost seriousness. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care," the statement added.

According to the statement, Aidoo has already been removed from office and barred from entering the school while a thorough investigation is conducted.

GES Management assured the public, stakeholders, parents, and students that due process would be followed and that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken in line with the Ghana Education Service code of conduct.

The statement concluded by reaffirming GES’s commitment to upholding "the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools."

Voters registration: Over 11 million Ghanaians registered - EC

The Electoral Commission has revealed that more than eleven million Ghanaians have registered for the voters' ID card as of Friday, July 24, 2020.
